Cynthia Smith, 57, dies

Columbus, OH — Cynthia Annette Smith, 57, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Oct. 2, 2010.

She was a graduate of Stranahan High School and could often be found fishing with her father, Frank, on the Captain Bill drift boat. She then went on to fish the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as a Captain/mate on some on the best sport fishing boats in the world.

Ms. Smith then found her special relationship with horses. She trained and groomed some of the best horses in the country as she traveled to many horse tracks throughout the USA. She will be remembered for her love of all animals and her kindness towards all of her friends.

She is survived by her parents, Frank and Dottie; brothers, Kent “Kunta” and Frank “Skip”; and Debra Todd, Casey, Lindsey and Nikki. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy.

There will be a celebration of her life at the Lauderdale Isles Yacht & Tennis Club, 2637 Whale Harbor Lane, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312, 954.583.7422 from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8.
