Three participants in the 2004 Dan Patch Invitational Pace will be back in action Saturday, April 24 for the $20,000 Invitational Pace. Swingin Glory, Foxy Maneuver, and Sharky Spur all return from this year’s $200,000 Dan Patch held April 10.

Headlining the race is Sharky Spur, winner of the 2003 Dan Patch Invitational. The eight-year-old son of Cam’s Card Shark has 62 career wins and is less than $60,000 away from eclipsing the $1 million earnings mark. Owned by Roy Davis of Pittsburgh, Pa., Sharky Spur finished fifth in this year’s Dan Patch. He will begin from post eight for driver Don Irvine Jr.

Joining Sharky Spur as a fellow Dan Patch contender is Foxy Maneuver from post seven as the second choice on the morning line. At odds of 7-2, the five-year-old Indiana sired gelding ventured to Dover Downs for the $80,000 Classic Series Monday, April 19. After being parked the entire mile, Foxy Maneuver did not fare well in the world-record setting mile by Luckyisasluckydoes in a time of 1:49.1. Foxy Maneuver returns to his home turf seeking to improve upon his fourth place finish in this year’s Dan Patch.

Swingin Glory was also in this year’s Dan Patch field. The 10-year-old son of Raging Glory has five wins this season with his best effort recorded in late March in a time of 1:50.3. Ricky Macomber Jr. will guide Swingin Glory from post five at odds of 4-1.

Other horses in the field include Confirmed Winner, post one, Street Sign, post two, Star Prospect, post three, Spy Kid, post four, Art’s Chip, post six, Kentucky Socks, post nine, and Title Shot from post 10. The $20,000 Invitational is set as the 10th race on the 14-race program. Estimated post time is 10:02 p.m.
