Dave Yarock wins GSY event at Monticello

Monticello, NY — The GSY amateurs took center stage on the Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 27) Monticello card.

McCard Attack (Chris Petrelli) set sail from his rail position in the compact field of six and took the field through a pedestrian :31.1 quarter and 1:02.1 half-mile. He was able to sustain this lead until the pocket sitter Takeittotheface (Dave Yarock) popped the pocket right before the three-quarter pole and took the lead heading into the stretch.

He was able to stave off all the late challengers en route to a 3-1/4 length victory in 2:00.2. Longshot Special Graduate (David Dziengiel) finished second and the post time favorite Chance To See (Joe Lee) rounded out the trifecta.

Yarock also owns this 7-year-old gelding out of the mare Anastasia Hanover and sired by Artzina. He is trained by Dawn Deveaux.

It was Yarock’s second win this week at the upstate New York half-mile oval. His other winner was aboard his trotter Mr Ridgetaker.

The amateur pacers and trotters will be back at The Meadowlands starting next Friday night with the first post scheduled for 6:20 p.m.
