Davidson du Pont repeats in Prix de Bretagne

For the second consecutive year the 6-year old trotter Davidson du Pont won the first qualifying race for the Prix d’Amerique, the Prix de Bretagne which was raced Sunday afternoon (Nov. 17) at Vincennes.

Jean Michel Bazire, who trains Davidson du Pont, is excluded from driving, and therefore Franck Ouvrie was in the bike. Davidson du Pont finished strongly to win in 1.57 (mile rate) followed by Chica de Joudes with Alain Laurent and Looking Superb with Alexandre Abrivard.

These three trotters are now qualified for the Prix d’Amerique.

Only two other trotters have won the Prix de Bretagne twice.

In 1977-78 it was Grandpre and in 1997-98 it was Capitole.

Grand Pre won the Prix d’Amerique in 1978, while Capitole was second in 1997 and third in 1998.
