Davis finishes off big night with four wins at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — After securing a win and a second in two $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund finals at Harrington, Eddie Davis Jr. then motored to Rosecroft Raceway and won four races on the Wednesday night (Oct. 7) card.

Davis started the night with a win aboard Movie Town for trainer Jeff Stafford, followed by a blowout win for owner-trainer Brian Callahan as Hillbillycamtastic won by seven lengths in 1:53.3, a new lifetime mark. Harry and Carolyn Smith’s Don Dorado gave Davis his third win of the night as he held off a fast closing Studio City for trainer Justin Brenneman. Penny Girl, trained by Eric Davis, was win number four for the driver.

Declan Donoway picked up a driving double as Writteninred won for the first time, yet has been in the money in 50 percent of her 26 lifetime starts. The wire-to-wire score from post eight provided the win for breeders/owners, Michael and Brittany Bounds. Donoway was a king from outside posts as he won his second from post nine with Whateveryoulike for Amy Bowling and trainer Winston Williams.

Sean Bier won twice as Rock The Game won a conditioned trot for Breakaway Racing and trainer Shaun Callahan, while Bier won with Pamela Dortone’s Roll With Fred, who is conditioned by Thomas Armour.

The finale was the best race of the night, producing a dramatic stretch duel in which 19-year-old Trae Porter and Sassa’s Sister won in a lifetime best 1:51.4 outdueling Hillbilly Jet.
