Davis wins five Thursday at Harrington

Harrington, DE — Driver Allan Davis won five of the 11 races carded at Harrington Raceway Thursday.
The 37-year-old pilot won with 3-to-5 favorite Thisdeuceiswild ($3.20) in the second race before chauffeuring trotter Six Gun Hall ($4.40) to the winner’s circle in race five. Davis then added to his total with Jailhouse Juice ($3.40) in the seventh and Hay Big Tuna ($7.80) in race eight. He notched his fifth aboard trotter Hurrikane Brockton ($5.80) in the 10th. Four of Davis’ wins came aboard trotters.
Victor Kirby registered a driving double.
Currently George Dennis sits atop the driver standings with 38 victories. Three-time defending champion Ross Wolfenden (32) is close behind, followed by Kirby (29), Morand (23) and Davis (21).
As for the trainer standings, last year’s co-champions, brothers Wayne and Les Givens are picking up where they left off in 2012. Les Givens (11 wins) has a narrow lead over his older brother Wayne (10). John Cabot (7) and Mike Hall (7) complete the top four. Meanwhile Kyle Moore (6) and George Wagner (6) are close behind.
