Daylon Miracle overcomes tough trip to win Meadows top F&M trot

Washington, PA Daylon Miracle wore down the stubborn Cowgirl Hall and captured Wednesday’s (5/27) $22,500 Filly & Mare Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.


Cowgirl Hall got the early lead but had to endure a 27.1 first quarter to do so. When Daylon Miracle challenged first-over from third for Aaron Merriman, the mares dueled for the rest of the mile, with Daylon Miracle 1-1/4 lengths ahead at the wire in 1:54.1.


Anaffairtoremember, the winner’s stablemate, finished third.


Bill Bercury trains and owns Daylon Miracle, a 6-year-old daughter of Pegasus Spur-Daylon Marvel who now boasts $498,937 in career earnings. Tony Hall, Dave Palone and Merriman each fashioned a triple on the 14-race card.


Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday, when the program features a $100,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series stake for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters. First post is 12:55 p.m.
