Dealt A Winner much the best at Harrah’s Philadelphia

Chester, PA — Jeffrey Snyder’s Dealt A Winner ($4.00) proved dominant in Sunday’s (Oct. 27) $18,000 pacing feature at Harrah’s Philadelphia, drawing clear willingly on the final turn to post a seasonal-best 1:49.1 victory.

George Napolitano Jr. kept Dealt A Winner second-over on the first turn, and the pair cleared to the lead with a circuit to go after Mike’s Z Tam (Pat Lachance) pushed clear of early pacesetter Bright Diamond N (Joe Bongiorno). After rolling through a :54.2 first half, the 7-year-old Cam’s Card Shark gelding threw down the gauntlet up the far side with a :26.4 third sectional before expanding his lead over Mike’s Z Tam through the final turn.

Dealt A Winner remained strong all the way to the winning post, soundly defeating Mike’s Z Tam by 3-3/4 lengths. Twin B Tuffenuff (Dexter Dunn) emerged out of traffic to take third.

Tim Tetrick led all drivers with four wins on the 14-race card, while Napolitano notched a hat trick.

Despite odds-on choice Regal Hope ($3.20, Tetrick) prevailing in the $12,500 claiming fifth race, only one punter successfully selected the 5-1-4-2-3 combination in the day’s Jackpot Hi-5, which yielded a dividend of $14,566.02.

Live racing returns to Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 30); first post is 12:25 p.m. (EDT).
