Dejarmbro leads winners in Thursday Big M qualifiers

East Rutherford, NJ — Dejarmbro, who went off stride in a qualifier last week, won today by 3-1/4 lengths from post nine in 1:56.2 for trainer-driver Trond Smedshammer at Meadowlands Racetrack. Dejarmbro covered the final quarter-mile in :28. Last year, the colt won eight of 11 races, including the New York Sire Stakes championship.

Broad Bahn, who was sidelined by a fracture that required two months of stall rest, made his first appearance since winning his Breeders Crown elimination last October. He finished second in his qualifier, timed in 1:55.2, with a :28.3 final quarter, from post 10. Mike Vanderkemp drove for trainer Noel Daley.

See You At Peelers, last season’s undefeated 2-year-old filly pacing Dan Patch Award winner, was in qualifier action again, winning by 4-3/4 lengths in 1:52.2, with a :27.3 final quarter from post four. Marcus Johansson drove for trainer Jimmy Takter. Some Girls Do was second and Honky Tonk Woman was third.

Last year, See You At Peelers won all 13 of her starts, including the Breeders Crown and New York Sire Stakes championship. She previously won a qualifier on April 30 in 1:53.1, with a :26.1 final quarter.

Fashion Delight, last year’s Woodrow Wilson winner, also was back in action. He won a qualifier by 9-1/4 lengths in 1:52.3, with a :28 final quarter, from post five. David Miller drove for trainer Jim Campbell. Last week, Fashion Delight was second in his qualifier, in 1:56.3, with a :26.3 final quarter.
