Delaware County Fairgrounds to host final legs of Buckeye Stallion Series

Grove City, OH — The last legs of the Buckeye Stallion Series (BSS) before the final will be raced at the Delaware County Fair. The 3-year-olds will race Sunday (Sept. 16) and Monday (Sept. 17). The 2-year-olds will race Wednesday (Sept. 19) and Thursday (Sept. 20).

On Sunday, 13 3-year-old fillies will start the series in races four and six. In the fourth race, two fillies are previous BSS winners. She’s On A Mission (Manofmanymissions-Cecada), trained by Dustin Arledge, won her division in leg two at El Dorado Scioto Downs and Infrontandforgetit (Dontyouforgetit-Front End Rate), trained by Jim Arledge Jr., won in leg one at Miami Valley.

This Year’s Best (My MVP-Under My Thumb) is one of two My MVP fillies in race six. She has nine Ohio Fair Stakes wins. She is trained by John Ryan Melsheimer.

Trained by Ray Paver, Kellie’s MVP (My MVP-Adriana Hanover) has two BSS leg wins (both at Scioto Downs) going into this race and is looking to take her third.

Moments of Fire (Winning Fireworks-KT Pricelessmoment), trained by Titus Schlabach, is a returning BSS winner as well. She won her division in leg one at Miami Valley and has two Ohio Fair Stakes wins.

Sunday will also see 24 3-year-old colts in races eight, 10 and 12.

Race eight will see two Dejarmbro colts, High Definition (Dejarmbro-High Musclemass) and Distorted Dream (Dejarmbro-Silly Dreams). High Definition, trained by Gerry Sarama, won his BSS division in both leg one at Miami Valley Raceway and leg two at El Dorado Scioto Downs. Distorted Dream, trained by Steve Cross, has four Ohio Fair Stakes wins.

Also racing in race eight, Manny L (Manofmanymissions-Eagle Canada), trained by Herb Le Van, just set a new track record at Upper Sandusky in 1:57.2 and has four other Ohio Fair Stakes wins. Crews Hightop (Break The Bank K-Hilltopperforjohn) has seven Ohio Fair Stakes wins and is trained by Larry Tinch.

Race 10 will see three Manofmanymissions colts. Priest Man (Manofmanymissions-Holy Mary), trained by Jacob Miller, is a returning BSS divisional winner from leg one at Miami Valley Raceway and well as an Ohio Fair Stakes win at McConnellsville. Fleet Cessna (Manofmanymissions-Cessna Hanover), trained by Trent Stohler, has five Ohio Fair Stakes wins. Blasco (Manofmanymissions-Zakanaka), trained by Bud High, has 17 starts and has finished in the top three in 15 of those starts, including nine Ohio Fair Stakes wins.

In race 12 six of the eight starters have won their division in a leg of the BSS and the other two have a high number of wins this season.

Two Dejarmbro colts, Showboat (Dejarmbro-ToriAnn) and Decashbro (Dejarmbro-Swing Anna Cash) each won their division of BSS on July 11 at El Dorado Scioto Downs. Showboat also won his division in leg one at Miami Valley. Showboat is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr and Decashbro by Sam Schillaci.

Two Manofmanymission colts are racing; Man on Vacation (Manofmanymissions-Sugar), trained by Earl Ownings, has won four Ohio Fair Stakes races and has placed in the top three in nine of his 15 starts this year. Sugar Top (Manofmanymissions-Sugar), trained by Melanie Wrenn, is another returning BSS division winner from leg one at Miami Valley.

In My Dreams (Winning Fireworks-Iam Spikes Wish), trained by Brady Galliers, and Doc Mossies Legacy (Break The Bank-Montaulk Point), trained by Scott Betts, both were BSS divisional winners in leg three at El Dorado Scioto Downs.

Jeffery P (Full Count-Betty Jean), trained by Miles Wollam, has 11 out of 14 starts in firsts and seconds, including two BSS wins in leg one at Miami Valley Raceway and leg two at El Dorado Scioto Downs.

This is the final leg for points for the 3-year-old trotters. The final will be held at Northfield Park on Oct. 6.

The 3-year-old pacers will race Monday at the Delaware County Fair.
