Delaware Open Series to debut in 2011

Delaware, OH — The Delaware County Fair has announced the introduction of the new Delaware Open Series to be raced during the Grand Circuit Week (September 18-22, 2011).

The Delaware Open will be an early closing series that is open to all 2- and 3-year-olds of both gaits and sexes. This new series will replace the New Century Series that was limited to Ohio sired horses. Each event is expected to be raced for $8,000 (est).

“We are excited to offer the Delaware Open Series,” noted Phil Terry, the General Manager of the Delaware County Fair. “This new series will allow everyone the opportunity to race at the Delaware County Fair.”

The nominating fee of $100 is due by February 15, 2011. A sustaining fee of $200 will be due by April 15, 2011 and the starting fee will be $200.
