Delbert Biccum, 93, dies

Columbus, OH — Delbert A. Biccum, 93, of Port Jervis, N.Y. and formerly of Montague, N.J., died May 28, 2020 at Achieve Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility, Liberty, N.Y.

He was born June 10, 1926 in Theresa, N.Y., the son of the late John Biccum and the late Mary Craigen Biccum.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944-1946.

Mr. Biccum was happily married to the former Alma Norris for 66 years prior to her passing on May 26, 2012. The Biccums had a plumbing business for many years, but he became well known for his success as the harness racing driving and training owner of D&A Stables in Montague, N.J.

He is survived by his son, Gary (Debbie); sister, Mabel Ramsey; grandchildren, Amanda Scully, Greg, USN LDO Ensign Joe, USAF Staff Sargent Ryan, Rebecca Donaldson, Emily, Ashley and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Jack Scully, Henry Scully, Scarlett Scully, Amelia and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Alan Joseph “Joe,” David and Daniel Scott; seven brothers; and six sisters.

There will be no visitation and funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Cremation was held at MacLennan Hall Crematorium, Milford, Pa. A burial will be held in Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, N.Y. at a later date.
