Flemington, NJ — If it should be done it will be done.

These words exemplify New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy’s lifetime credo after putting himself through Harvard University and then obtaining his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, enjoying a successful career in finance and serving as the U.S. ambassador to Germany.

Phil Murphy was interviewed on the Meadowlands simulcast show last Saturday by Gabe Prewitt.

In preparation for his gubernatorial run, Murphy, who is on record as an advocate for strengthening the equine industry in the state, launched New Way for New Jersey designed to explain his vision to make New Jersey better and to make its families healthier and more secure.

“Deo Volente Farms heartily endorses Murphy’s gubernatorial aspirations and we also enthusiastically endorse his stated commitment to the betterment of the New Jersey equine industry,” said Founder and CEO of Deo Volente Farms, Mike Gulotta.

“We are confident that Mr. Murphy’s new way will indeed prove to be the right way to go for our equine industry and for all of New Jersey and we urge our fellow horsemen to vigorously support the candidacy of Phil Murphy,” added Gulotta.

Last weekend at the invitation of Gulotta and Meadowlands’ owner Jeff Gural, Murphy was on hand to present the trophy for the $738,550 Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace to the winning connections of Huntsville in a ceremony that was also part of a broadcast on SNY.

“The best days in the horse industry, the equine industry, are ahead of us, but we do need leadership that appreciates that, that understands what you have to do to move that needle. And I’m honored to be raising my hand to do that,” said Murphy in an interview on the Meadowlands simulcast with Gabe Prewitt following the race.

Also on hand that evening was Murphy’s good friend and confidante, former New Jersey Governor Richard Codey, an acknowledged racing aficionado, who, among other examples of demonstrated support for the equine industry in New Jersey, was instrumental in bringing the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Cup to Monmouth Park in 2007.

Both Murphy and Codey have visited Deo Volente Farms in recent months.

Deo Volente Farms is an ardent supporter of the entire New Jersey equine industry and a dual breed participant standing the 2014 Hambletonian champion Trixton while participating in the ownership of the international Thoroughbred champion California Chrome.
