Derby Day wagering up at NJSEA locations in 2011

East Rutherford, NJ — Kentucky Derby Day wagering was up five percent in 2011 at all NJSEA locations combined.

A total of $7.15 million was handled versus $6.82 million the previous year.

Favorites at Woodbridge handled a one-day record of $992,563, up five percent from the previous high of $944,966 in 2010. New Jersey Account Wagering also saw its best single day of wagering with $1,160,494 bet by internet and phone, an 11 percent increase over the previous high of $1,042,308 in 2010. Wagering at Meadowlands Racetrack was up seven percent, with $3.7 million handled on-site vs. $3.4 million in 2010.
