DeVan elected President of Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame

Goshen, NY — At a special meeting of the Board of Trustees, Lawrence S. DeVan was elected President of the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, effective Jan. 15.

Elbridge T. Gerry, Jr. announced his retirement after more than 20 years of dedicated service as the institution’s President. Mr. Gerry will continue to help guide the Museum as Chairman of the Executive Committee.

Max Hempt was elected Treasurer and will continue his role as Vice President; Steve Oldford was elected Vice President.

The Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame is located at 240 Main Street in Goshen, N.Y. and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last tour 4 p.m.). Thanks to USTA support, the Museum is currently offering free admission for walk-in visitors and group docent-guided tours at a minimal charge per person.
