Deweycheatumnhowe, Majestic Son breedings offered in New Vocations auction

from New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program

Laura, OH — New Vocations’ 12th annual stallion auction will be held February 3–9 at www.OnGait.com.

Deweycheatumnhowe, Majestic Son, Dragon Again, Cam’s Card Shark, and Major In Art are just a sample of the breedings offered to 80 stallions in ten states and Canada. All proceeds from the stallion auction go toward the care and placement of retired racehorses.

The stallion auction is being conducted this year in a new Open End format.

“This means that if a bid comes in within five minutes of the scheduled close of the auction the computer automatically adds five minutes to the auction,” explains OnGait manager Maurice Chodash. “Bidding is closed if five minutes elapses without a bid. That way bidders that hover over the computer can’t “lock out” other bidders who are too late to react.”

“This open end format should help New Vocations get the maximum for these breedings that have been generously donated, without the hurt feelings of being shut out,” said Executive Director Dot Morgan. “We’re still accepting breedings for this important fundraiser. I’d like to urge stallion owners that will have unused breedings to consider supporting this effort.”

Those attending the Blooded Horse Sale February 8 and 9 can place bids at the New Vocations booth.
