Diamond Creek announces 2022 stud fees

Lexington, KY — Diamond Creek has announced stud fees for its roster of 10 stallions at the Kentucky farm, Pennsylvania farm, and Sugar Valley Farm in Delaware, Ohio. The roster is led by three-time Breeders Crown champion Gimpanzee and a trio of young guns in Always B Miki, Downbytheseaside, and Sweet Lou.

“Coming off a bullish yearling season, it is still important to us to offer our clients both quality and value at all levels of the market,” said President Adam Bowden.

Shaun Laungani, VP, added, “Our stallions bred over 1,000 mares last season, a milestone for us.”

Several Diamond Creek studs are wrapping up a banner year in 2021. Diamond Creek-bred stallion Creatine is the sire of sensational Jujubee, Kentucky Futurity winner in 1:49.3. Creatine excelled in the sales ring with a yearling average of over $59,000 in Lexington and will return to Sugar Valley Farm for a fee of $4,000. Diamond Creek is also offering shares in Creatine for $10,000 a share and a special incentive of two breedings per share in 2022 and 2023.

Breakout freshman sire Downbytheseaside is off to a historically strong start with Ohio Sire Stakes domination and Grand Circuit successes including Breeders Crown finalists Sea Silk, Gulf Shores and Pebble Beach. This wave of success has breeders dreaming of Ohio bred Grand Circuit champions, He will stand for a fee of $12,000 at Sugar Valley Farm.

Always B Miki has proved he is a sire of champions with his first crop of 3-year-olds, including Perfect Sting and Grace Hill. His second crop of 2-year-olds proved to be just as potent as the first with Niki Hill, Monte Miki, and True Blue Lindy. At the top of sire standings for 3-year-olds, Always B Miki will stand for $12,500 in Pennsylvania and continues to give his breeders a substantial chance to produce a champion.

Sweet Lou achieved a Lexington yearling sales average of $90,000, topping out at $400,000 on the backs of Jug winner Lou’s Pearlman and Adios winner Hellabalou and 2-year-old Breeders Crown finalists Lyons Serenity and Six Feet Apart. He remains a great value for yearling sellers, giving breeders a consistent early race horse that can last for a long career.

Diamond Creek looks forward to Captain Crunch and Bettor’s Wish‘s first yearlings in 2022. First crop foals for Gimpanzee and Marseille are set to drop next Spring. The breeding season will also debut a new stallion barn at the Kentucky farm.
