Dojea Gizmo takes final feature at Dayton

Dayton, OH — For the second straight week, Dojea Gizmo was impressive in winning the $30,000 Open Pace in 1:50.4 on closing day at Hollywood Dayton.

Dojea Gizmo captured the $30,000 Open Pace on the final day of Hollywood Dayton’s 2021 meet.

Driver Trevor Smith secured a two-hole trip for the 4-year-old son of Tellitlikeitis (Dan Noble), who hit the quarter beam in :26.3 and then tapped the brakes to the :56.2 halfway juncture. Heavy favorite Sectionline Bigry (Brett Miller) came to call during a speedy :26.2 third quarter to take command around the final turn, but Dojea Gizmo was patiently sitting in the pocket, waiting for Sectionline Bigry to tire. When Sectionline Bigry finally softened, Dojea Gizmo pounced to take the lead and lengthen it through the stretch. Sectionline Bigry did hang on for second while GD Western Joe (Chris Page) rode the pylons to secure a third-place finish.
