Two offspring to sensational first crop sire Donato Hanover were among the top five yearlings sold at the biggest yearling sale in Scandinavia, the Kriterium Sale in Stockholm, Sweden, which started Thursday (September 29).

Right Or Wrong, a colt sired by Donato Hanover and out of Heavy Connection (by Mack Lobell), became the second highest yearling with a bid of $66,000. The dam earlier brought Junction (by Zoot Suit), who has a mark of 1:55.4f and earned $260,000. Right Or Wrong was bred and raised by Hambletonian Society director Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg.

Follow Me Zon, a filly by Donato Hanover and out of Coco Robin (by Credit Winner), was sold for $51,000, the fifth highest price at the sale. Coco Robin is the dam of the 2-year-old Taxman (by Conway Hall), who has a mark of 2:01h and earnings of $41,154.

The French sire Ready Cash, who won this year’s Prix d’Amerique, is also a very popular sire and the top price at the sale, $67,000, was paid for a colt sired by him, M T In Cash, out of Bernies Babe (she by Berndt Hanover).

Thursday’s sale was a select sale and the average price was up 12.4 percent compared to last year to $19,735. Of special note, it was remarkable that the average price for fillies rose by 24.7 percent compared to last year.
