Dorsoduro Hanover edges nearer $2M with Meadows victory

Washington, PA – Dorsoduro Hanover captured Friday’s (Feb. 11) $17,600 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, taking another step in his quest to become a double millionaire. The win lifted the lifetime bankroll to $1,974,421 for the 2018 3-Year-Old Male Pacer of the Year.

Dorsoduro Hanover increased his career-bankroll to nearly $2M with a win this afternoon in the Open Handicap Pace at the Meadows. Chris Gooden photo.

Dorsoduro Hanover stalked Torrin Hanover from the pocket until Dave Palone sent him wide for the drive. Though the Somebeachsomewhere-Dear Valley Miss gelding needed the entire lane to do it, he got up to defeat Torrin Hanover by a neck in 1:51.1. The first-over Shvaiko finished third.

Ron Burke trains the winner for Burke Racing Stable, J&TSilva-Purnel&Libby, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Wingfield Five LLC.

Aaron Merriman, Ridge Warren and trainer Scott Betts joined Palone and Burke with doubles on the 11-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday (Feb. 16) when the program features a pair of carryovers — $4,921.33 in the final-race Super Hi-5, $4,822.08 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
