Dover horsemen contribute to needy for Christmas

Dover, DE — The Third Annual Horsemen’s Christmas Drive proved another success as the Dover Downs horsemen, patrons and friends 2013 contributions will enable 77 families and more than 220 children in the Kent County, DE. area a Christmas to remember this year.

Already a contributor of $1,000 to the recent Delaware Food Bank drives “Turkey Round Up’ through 94.7 WDSD FM spearheaded by Sky Phillips of the station, who also was a part of fund raising at the Dover Mall last weekend.

Among those at Dover Downs on Thursday, Dec. 20, were horsewoman Janet Davis, who founded the Horseman’s Christmas Drive campaign three years ago, Jim Persell of Communities In School, Carry Apter of “Peoples Place”, Nicole Mosely and Barbara Jumper of Lake Forest school district, Katherine Ault of 92.9 “Tom FM,” and Sky and Terry Phillips of WDSD 94.7 FM, and Jen Gandolfo and Cham Ballard of “Two Men On A Truck” plus the horseman colony at Dover Downs.

As usual, the Dover Downs horsemen, led by Corey Callahan and Daryl Bier, dug down deep to help others have a Merry Christmas.
