Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs will host the Crawford Farms Open Trot, Muscle Hill Open Mare Trot and Artiscape Open Mare Pace on Friday (Aug. 21).

The draw for all three is on Tuesday (Aug. 18) and the box closes at 9 a.m. They are Stakes Barn races with the horses due in no later than 8 p.m. the night before.

There is also a New York Sires Stake for 2-year-old pacing fillies on the same card.

Horsemen that plan to stay at the Vernon Downs hotel are encouraged to make those arrangements with the Racing Office sooner rather than later. The Racing Office may be reached at 315.829.6825.

Tioga Downs hosts the Roll With Joe Open Pace on Sunday (Aug. 23) on the same card with the Empire Breeders Classic finals and Reynolds Memorial stakes for 2-year-old trotters. The box for these stakes closes at 9 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 19). Phone for the Tioga Racing Office is 607.699.7688.
