Draws complete for 2022 revivals of Camluck Classic and Forest City Pace 

London, ON – The Raceway at Western Fair on Monday (May 23) conducted draws for its upcoming Grand Circuit pacing events: the C$150,000 Camluck Classic and the C$50,000 Forest City Pace. The Camluck Classic, sponsored by Seelster Farms of Lucan, Ontario, returns after a two-year pandemic-related hiatus. The Forest City Pace for fillies and mares was last contested ten years ago; Mac Lilley Farms is the new supporting sponsor, to mark the Dutton, Ontario breeding and training facility’s 50th year of operations.

The field for the Forest City Pace was revealed at today’s draw, with 2020 O’Brien Older Pacing Mare of the Year So Much More (p, 5, 1:49.2s; C$935,958 landing post six. She’s owned by Don Beatson of Granton, Ontario; Ken Beatson of Palgrave, Ontario; and Cole England of Exeter, Ontario. So Much More shares credit for Canada’s fastest winning distaff mile of 2022 with Shes Nun Bettor N (p, 6, 1:50.3s; C$233,555, owned by Brad Grant of Milton, Ontario. The New Zealand import took her new lifetime mark at Woodbine Mohawk Park on May 20.

Blue Chip Matchmaker Consolation winner Gias Surreal (p,5,1:49.3s; C$645,742, brings high speed on a half, direct from Yonkers Raceway. She’s owned by James Graham of Hamburg, New York, Edward Peron of Syracuse, New York, and Lee Winters, Medina, New York. North America’s co-fastest mare on a half-mile track this year, Matchmaker Series leg winner Karma Seelster (p,4,1:49.2s; C$822,016, is owned by Karen Hauver of Durham, Ontario. She sports a seasonal-best 1:51.1h mark that sets up for a thrilling revival of The Raceway’s top event for pacing mares.

An eighth “Mystery Horse” to round out the eight-horse Camluck Classic field was announced at the time of Camluck Classic draw: Twin B Tuffenuff (p, 4, 1:49.4f; C$598,228, drew post position two. The seven-year-old stallion is owned by Patrick C. Morris of Charlottetown, PEI. His fastest half-mile track victory was a 1:52.2h Yonkers win in 2019; he captured his third start of the year at The Meadowlands, later winning at Yonkers and now scheduled to make his 2022 Canadian debut at The Raceway, following Saturday’s cancellations at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Friday’s (May 27) star-studded card card kicks off at 6:50 p.m. (Eastern).
