Columbus, OH — As reported by Meadowlands handicapper and broadcaster Dave Brower on his Facebook page Wednesday (April 20), following is an update on driver Brett Beckwith, who was injured in an accident in the 12th race at Saratoga on Monday (April 11), from Melissa Silverman Beckwith.

“We made it home late last night and surgery went well. He has a plate and screws in there. When the block wears off today he will be in a good amount of pain for a few days. The doctor was awesome and the nurses and staff were literally the nicest caring people I have ever met! Totally worth driving the 5-1/2 hours to get it done! I want to thank everyone who called or texted to check on how he was doing and how I was holding up as it wasn’t easy being there alone. We go back in a week to get it checked and then in six weeks the splint can come off and PT will begin!”
