FT. WASHINGTON, MD — After finishing second for two consecutive weeks against tough fields of horses, Drivin’ Miss Rudee may have her turn at the prize in Saturday’s $7,200 Winners Over pace for fillies and mares at Rosecroft Raceway.

Set to leave the gate from post position two, the 5-year-old Walton Hanover mare shows improving speed. Last week, with Donnie Russell at her lines, Drivin’ Miss Rudee missed the win by a length to Barolo Hanover (Corey Braden) in 1:53.4. Trainer John Sumner has again given Russell the driving assignment. Sumner co-owns the winner of over $137,000 with William Camp Jr.

Boca Hanover is another to consider at 3-1 morning line odds. The five-year-old daughter of The Panderosa, owned by Irwin Samelman, was third during her last try in the Winner’s Over. Trained by Don Milby, the mare has over $81,000 earned lifetime. Frank Milby is set to drive the mare and the pair will face the starter in post position five.

At 7-2 odds, You’re Welcome has been sharp as well. The five-year-old Dragon Again mare, returning from the Delaware tracks, drew post position six. Owned by Ron McLenaghan, You’re Welcome was third in her last start at Harrington Raceway in 1:56.0. Trainer John Stubbs has named Victor Kirby as driver.

Adelias Girl (Timmy Offutt, 6-1), GH Shady Lady (Wayne Long, 6-1) and Miss Cameo Please (Brian Burton, 10-1) complete the field.

Post time for Saturday’s 13-race card is 7:20 p.m.
