Driving double for Krivelin in GSY Series

East Rutherford, NJ — The second leg of the GSY Amateur Trotting Series was held at the Meadowlands on Friday night (March 27) and both divisions were won by Robert Krivelin.

The first of two amateur events on the Friday night card found Krivelin behind Current Crisis and sitting second until the half. That is when they went by the leader Fuel Cell, with David Ehrenberg II, and didn’t look back from there.

Krivelin ended up winning the first trot race in 1:56.3 by four-plus lengths. A hard charging Jacks To Open, driven by Hannah Miller, finished second from way back, just catching Wygant Prince, with Paul Minore at the reins, who ended up third.

The second division of the GSY event took place in the fourth race on the card and again found Krivelin first at the wire with Permanent Joy.

This time Krivelin came from seventh to get up in time to win by a neck with the race timed in 1:57.3. Windsun Galliano, driven by Anthony Ciuffetelli, just missed and finished second, while Curvature Hanover, driven by Bob Davis, ended up a length off to finish third.

The series will continue every Friday throughout the month of April and the handle for the two amateur events topped $352,000. The betting public has spoken and enjoys wagering on the amateurs with a lot of other factors involved in these events besides just handicapping.
