Drole de Jet wins in 1.52.2 in Paris

Paris, France – Legendary French trotter and stallion, Coktail Jet died in 2018, but his legacy at the racetracks continues. One of his sons, the 7-year old Drole de Jet, is one of the best trotters in France at present.

Drole de Jet, who’s is trained and driven by Pierre Vercruysse, won the Prix de Washington over the mile at Enghien Saturday afternoon (July 26) in 1.52.2.

Though seven years of age, Drole de Jet has only raced 36 times and has won 11 races. He has earned $665,000 dollars lifetime.

Drole de Jet is invited to race in Sweden next month in the Aby Stora Pris over approximately two miles.  However, Vercruysse may opt to stay in France and once again race Drole de Jet in another mile race.

Also at Enghien Saturday afternoon, the best 4- year old French trotters met in the Prix de Milan over 1-5/16 mile.

GU d’Heripre, another son to Coktail Jet, was favored to win with Franck Nivard in the bike – but had to settle for second.

Go On Boy driven by trainer-driver Romain Derieux was in command the whole trip and won by three-quarters of a length timed in 1.57.2 (mile rate).  Go On Boy is sired by Password.

In Norway, offspring to Muscle Hill won two big stake races.

Thankful – who’s dam is Peaceful Way – won the Norwegian Championship for elder mares  – raced over 1-5/16 mile in 1.55.4f (mile rate), while the 3-year-old Jolene BR won the filly division in the Princess Märtha Louise’s Trophy in 2.00.1f (mile rate).

The colts division was won by Custom Cheval, who is sired by Farifant, in 1.58.2f (mile rate).

The Norwegian Championship for elder trotters was won by Ferrari B R, sired by Muscles Yankee.  Ferrari BR won the 1-5/8 mile event in a photo finish and was timed in 1.57.4f (mile rate).
