DSBF second leg for two-year-old colt and gelding pacers at Dover Downs

Dover, DE – Three divisions of two-year-old colt and gelding pacers led off the week in the second leg of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund series Monday (Nov. 16) at Dover Downs.

First of two non-wagering events went to Z’s Dream (Dream Away-Eastwood Aurora N) in 1:56.4 making it two in a row for owner Leonard Hubbard and trainer Andrew Stafford. Driven by Andrew’s brother, Art Stafford, Jr. Downtown Show was second followed by Marvelous Winner in third.

The second non-wagering event was won by owner, trainer, breeder Brenda Teague’s Mr Overbite (Southwind Lynx-Hustle Hard) for his maiden win in 1:57.4 while being parked from the half for driver Tony Morgan. Brenda’s nephew, Montrell was “second right there” with Can’t Get Right followed by Squeak On By in third.

The third division was the first half of the Daily Double. It was all Henrico (Delmarvalous-Blue Moon Artist) for three wins in a row for co-owner/trainer, Clyde Francis and co-owner MST Racing. Driven by Tony Morgan to a new lifetime record of 1:54.1. Second was Subban followed by First State Joni in third.

The top eight point earners (in point order) will return for a $100,000 final on Thanksgiving eve(Nov. 25). They are Henrico, Z’s Dream, Marvelous Winner, Mr Overbite, Subban, Downtown Show, Justflirtingwithu, and Mister Ramsey.

Tuesday (Nov. 17) evening the Series continues with 2-year old trotters. Post Time 4:30 p.m.
