Dover, DE — The Delaware Standardbred Owners Association awards banquet will be held this Friday (Feb. 11) at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover, Del.

Horse Lovers United, a non-profit organization that cares for and helps find homes for Standardbreds who can no longer compete, will be having a silent auction at the banquet.

The auction will raise money to care for the sanctuary horses in the Horse Lovers United program. The horses, who are all retired Standardbreds, include Armbro Dunbar, Exotics Photostar, Nice Threads, and Rising Ty.

Some really nice items have been donated: a set of Scott Zeron’s colors, several Winbak Farm stallion breedings (Classic Card Shark, Quik Pulse Mindale, and Royal Mattjesty), a coffee basket, a Lyons Sentinel stable supplies basket, a Hambletonian-themed basket, a horse racing memorabilia basket, a kitchen basket, and so much more.

This August, Horse Lovers United will be celebrating its 30th year of helping horses. We look after them and follow up until they die. Many of the adopted horses have lived to be in their 30s. We appreciate those who have donated to the auction and as well, those who will be bidding on Friday evening.
