Dynamic Edge, Sherman strike again in GLADA Trot

Northfield, OH — Dynamic Edge and Don Sherman prevailed as the favorite in Sunday’s (Jan. 23) Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association event at Northfield Park, notching a second consecutive victory in the act.

After starting from post three, Sherman sent his charge immediately to the front, but the pair were challenged by Bill Rhoades and Guilty Desire. After a :28.4 first-quarter duel, Sherman and Dynamic Edge asserted to maintain the lead past the half in :57.3, but a determined Guilty Desire continued his wide bid up the backside. Undeterred by his outside foe, Dynamic Edge still got the first call at three-quarters in 1:28.1.

As Guilty Desire understandably weakened around the final turn, Emerald Chip and Lauren Harmon took up the chase, circling three-deep around tired horses and ranging within a length of the leader turning for home. Dynamic Edge rebuffed Emerald Chip’s challenge and won by a length in 1:59.1. Curlys Son and Marion Chupp finished third.

Dynamic Edge, a 9-year-old Muscle Mass gelding owned and trained by Jessica Roegner, paid $4.80 to win.
