Jay Wolf Is Good At Handicapping The Derby, Too!

Jay Wolf, assistant publicity director for Grand Circuit racing at the Delaware County Fair, finished 41st out of 24,163 participants in Churchill Downs annual pre-Kentucky Derby on line contest.

In February, Wolf, a native of Delaware, Ohio, selected 10 horses, two jockeys and two trainers under the banner of “Irish Pride Stable.” Points were awarded on pre-determined stakes performances of these horses, jockeys and trainers from February 12 through the Kentucky Derby, May 7.

Wolf’s Stable included Derby starters Afleet Alex, Bandini, Bellamy Road, High Fly, High Limit, Noble Causeway, Sun King and Wilko. The trainers and jockeys were Todd Pletcher, Nick Zito, Jerry Bailey and John Velazquez.

Wolf won a “limited edition” Derby 131 jacket. “Now, I’m hoping for a chilly Jug week to show off my prize,” said Wolf.
