from the USTA Communications Department

Columbus, OH — According to harnessracing.com, Ed Mullinax, 85, an Amherst, Ohio, resident, died on Saturday (Aug. 4). Mullinax owned and operated a number of successful automobile dealerships, which allowed him to participate heavily in the sport. In fact, he was the sponsor of the 2016 Hambletonian.

Although Mullinax owned at least 457 horses in conjunction with others and through his own Up Front Racing, the horse he will forever be most associated with was the late Dragon Again. He brought his beloved stallion to his home state so he could be close to him in his final years.

Mullinax also coveted his 2005 Little Brown Jug triumph with P-Forty-Seven.

More details will be posted when they are available.
