Ed You won the European Masters Trot final on Sunday.

After a pocket trip 18-1 outsider Ed You, driven by Torbjörn Jansson, won in 1:56.3f — a new Danish record at the distance. The purse for the winner was $325,000. Second was a heroic Mosaique Face, driven by Lutfi Kolgjni, who was parked outside leading Commander Crowe, who faded down the stretch.

This was the second big win this year for Ed You, who is trained by Robert Berg of Sweden and is owned by the Sedin brothers, well known hockey players in the NHL.

Back in July Ed You won the prestigious Abergs Memorial at Jägersro, although he finished second, but was awarded the race after the disqualification of the French trotter Un Mec d’Heripre, who was first past the post.

The Sedin brothers bought Ed You last year and this year the horse has developed into a top class trotter. Ed You is 7-year-old and is by the champion sire Love You.
