Eddie Miller wins $8,000 GLADA Trot at Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Despite being parked to the half in :55.4, Tootie hung on gamely to win the $8,000 GLADA Trot Sunday night (July 24) at Northfield Park.

With Eddie Miller at the controls the 5-year-old Uncle Peter mare rebuffed all challenges and went on to score a head triumph over Heidi’s Heart in 1:55.4.

A speed duel ensued after the start when Daniel Jones and The Next Triumph locked horns with Tootie and they sped by the quarter in :27.3 and were still heads apart by the half in :55.4.

When they straightened up the backside Tootie had gained command and she braced for a late challenge from Heidi’s Heart (Don Sherman). In the lane the aforementioned raced side by side to the wire, but Tootie was not to be denied and she hung on. Go Go George garnered the show dough for Christina Johnson.

The winner is owned by Ashley Dunn, Jamie Miller and Eddie Miller and trained by Eddie Miller. She paid $4.00 for the win.
