Eddie Miller wins both GLADA trots Sunday at Northfield

Northfield, OH — Eddie Miller won both $8,000 divisions of the Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Series Sunday night (July 17) at MGM Northfield Park. The talented youngster won the third race with Seven Knights in 1:58.4 and scored in 1:58.3 with Tootie three races later.

With those victories, Miller now has 11 wins in 29 starts this season.

Up behind Seven Knights in the first contest, Miller left softly from the two-hole as What A Pitstop and Steve Oldford rated fractions of :28.4, :59 and 1:29. But Seven Knights made his presence known around the final turn, moving alongside What A Pittstop and then speeding to the lead as they headed for home. At the wire, Seven Knights was 2-1/2 lengths clear. What A Pittstop finished second; Never Mind N took home third for Tim Miller.

Seven Knights, a 7-year-old Chapter Seven gelding, is trained by Steve Cross for owners Richard Gutnick, Joseph Lozito Jr. and Ed Hart. He paid $3.20 to win.

In the other split, Don Sherman sent Dynamic Edge to the lead from the six-hole and they led their competition by the quarter in :29 and the half in :59.3. At the three-quarters, they were joined by Go Go George (Christina Johnson). Meanwhile, Tootie enjoyed a close pocket trip throughout. When Miller found racing room with Tootie, the 5-year-old Uncle Peter mare rallied to a three-quarter-length victory over Sherman’s Dynamic Edge. Go Go George took home third.

Miller owns Tootie, who paid $7.20 to win, together with Ashley Dunn and Jamie Miller.
