Ehrenberg romps to Billings victory at Scioto Downs

by John Manzi, for the Delvin Miller Harness Drivers Association

Monticello, NY — Dave “Linemaster” Ehrenberg II was an easy winner in the C.K.G. Billings Harness Driving Championship Series trot when he reined American Flyer to a four length victory in a 1:58.2 clocking at Scioto Downs on Friday night, May 28.

After allowing Bob “Lumberman” Troyer to lead the field to a :57.3 half with Candacraigh, Ehrenberg moved American Flyer out to challenge and the two trotters raced head to head by the three-quarters in 1:27 before American Flyer pulled away and went on to an easy victory. Gavin “Bim Bam” Bixler, who shadowed American Flyer from the halfway point with Dummy Jones, also trotted by Candacraigh to finish second. Candacraigh held on for the show dough.

It was Ehrenberg’s first Billings triumph of the season.

Ehrenberg’s Linemaster Services LLC owns the winner, who paid $4.60.
