Elitlopp finalist to be trained by Ake Svanstedt

The 5-year-old Ecurie D, who finished sixth in the Elitlopp final Sunday afternoon at Solvalla, will leave the stable of Frode Hamre in Norway and will be shipped to the United States to be trained by Ake Svanstedt.

The news was published Sunday night by Swedish trade paper Travronden.

The owner duo has had plans to ship Ecurie D to the United States for several months and has entered him in several open stakes races this autumn.

Ecurie D will be flown to the United States as soon as possible and will have to be quarantined for six weeks before he can join the stable of Ake Svanstedt in New Jersey.

Ecurie D was a close second to Gelati Cut in their elimination and finished sixth in the final after being parked outside the leader in both races.

Ecurie D took a mark of 1:51.2f last year. He has raced 21 times and has won 15 races and has earnings of $430,000.

Svanstedt expects to race Ecurie D for the first time in late August at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
