Elitlopp-trotters in spotlight Saturday in Europe

Three trotters, who were dominant in the Elitlopp 2023, were in action on Saturday (July 15).

At Enghien, Paris, France the winner Hohneck with Gabriele Gelormini met elimination winner and fifth-placed in the final, Etonnant with Anthony Barrier.

Hohneck was favored to win the Prix de Washington over the mile with a total purse of 120.000 Euro, but Etonnant proved he was back to form and won very easily timed in 1.51.3 followed by Italian trotter Bleff Diba with Roberto Vecchione and Hohneck.

In Sweden, San Moteur with Björn Goop, who finished second in the Elitlopp to Hohneck, was the heavy favorite in Värmlands Store Sprint with a purse for the winner of $60,000 dollars.

Though San Moteur had to trot three wide round the first bend and then parked outside leading Click Bait with Per Lennartsson, he won by half a length in 1.53f followed by Missle Hill with Ôrjan Kihlström and Unico Broline with Erik Adielsson.
