Emory Henry, Jr., 87, dies

Columbus, OH — Emory O. Henry, Jr., 87, of Enon, Ohio, died March 16, 2012, at Springfield Regional Medical Center, due to complications from pneumonia.

He was born May 7, 1924, in Superior, Ohio, the son of Emory and Lexie Henry. Mr. Henry and his wife, Helen, resided in Enon for 59 years.

After retiring from the Southwestern Portland Cement Co. in 1989, he followed his dream and spent many years training and driving Standardbreds.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Don) Carter and their son, Don Jr. (Kathy) and their daughter, Deb; daughter, Carole (Leo) Stacy and their son, Shawn (April) Stacy; son, Dennis (Kim) and their children, Denny Ryan (Carrie), Zachary (Annie Hayslip), Jessica (Brian) Detty and Andrea (Matt) Harbage; daughter, Patti Brown(Travis Brown) and their children, Yvonne (Adam) Brann and Lisa (Jason) Rose; daughter, Nancy (Mike) Belcher and their children, Amy, Hank, and Joey Belcher; sister, Gloria Madlinger; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Helen; sister, Kathleen Boger; grandson, Michael Stacy; and great-grandson, Jonathon Carter.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday (March 20) at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, Ohio, with a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (March 21). Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Interment at Enon Cemetery.
