Columbus, OH — Grab your pens and pencils and start writing because there’s less than three weeks left to enter the 2009 Marie Hill Youth Writing Contest.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the first through third-place finishers in each category (13-16 and 12 and under) and all youth members under 16 are eligible to win.

Entries may be fiction or nonfiction, but must be about harness racing and/or the Standardbred breed, and may not exceed 750 words. Submissions must be received no later than Aug. 15.

Submissions will be judged by contest sponsor Marie Hill, Communicator’s Corner member and former Hoof Beats editor, Dean Hoffman, and Youth Beats editor, Jason Turner. Entries will be graded on content, accurate industry references and spelling/grammar.
