Eunice Penuel Holloway, 88, dies

Columbus, OH — Eunice Penuel Holloway, 88, of Frankford, Del., died May 13, 2014, after bravely fighting a heart attack she suffered on April 30, 2014.

Mrs. Holloway was born and resided in Frankford all her life. She graduated from John M. Clayton High School, Class of 1943, and from Goldey-Beacom College, located in Wilmington, Del.

She worked as a public service volunteer, providing leadership, guidance and support for the Frankford Public Library for more than 40 years.

Mrs. Holloway was a licensed Standardbred owner in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey for 45 years. She owned several popular harness horses that included Lils Ace, Tax Trick, Off The Cuff, Canceled, and former Ocean Downs track record holder Convoy.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ralph; and son, John.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday (May 17) at 12 noon at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street in Frankford, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Georgetown.
