Excessive heat forces cancellation at Plainridge

from Plainridge Racecourse

Plainville, MA — With record high temperatures forecast for the Boston area, Plainridge Racecourse has canceled its live card for Friday (July 22).

“As much as we would love to race our scheduled program, given the heat and humidity, the well being of the horses has to come first,” said Plainridge General Manager Steve O’Toole.

Weather forecasts in the area are predicting the heat index to be in excess of 100 degrees on Friday.

Racing will resume at Plainridge on Monday (July 25).
