Exotic wagering changes on Thursday at Cal-Expo

by Scott Ehrlich, publicity director, Cal-Expo

Sacramento, CA — In an effort to provide all Cal-Expo harness racing fans an exotic wagering format with larger pools, Cal-Expo will be making some changes to their wagering menu beginning this Thursday (December 3).

“Our fans will notice fewer Superfecta wagering opportunities for starters,” said Dave Elliott, Director of Racing for Cal-Expo. “We are hopeful the Trifecta pools will be the beneficiary of additional wagering, and with that increase will provide substantially higher payouts.

“Additionally, at some point, we will no longer offer the Pick-6. However, we will be looking at offering some 50-cent Trifectas, $25,000 Guaranteed Pick-4 pools, dual Pentafectas (Super High-5), and perhaps a Pick-5.

“We are thankful for the interest in the Cal-Expo racing product and are hopeful these changes will improve our program. We look forward to 2010 and the good racing it will provide.”

Fans wishing to offer constructive input are welcomed and asked to do so at horseracing@calexpo.com.

Live racing resumes at Cal-Expo on Thursday (December 3) and continues through Sunday (December 6). Post time each night is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (PST).
