Face Time Bourbon heading for the Prix d’Amerique

The 5-year-old French trotter Face Time Bourbon has started the countdown for the Prix d’Amerique and won the Prix Marcel Laurent at Vincennes Thursday afternoon (Nov. 12) in a new race record of 1:52.2.

The Prix Marcel Laurent is for 4- and 5-year-old trotters and is raced over the 1-5/16th mile distance.

Björn Goop was in the sulky behind Face Time Bourbon, and after an easy start, he took the top trotter to the front after 600 meters. Nobody was able to threaten Face Time Bourbon, who won handily by three lengths in 1:52.2 (mile rate) followed by Feerie Wood and Gu d’Heripre.

The purse for the winner was $45,000.

Face Time Bourbon, who is trained by Sebastian Guarato, will race next in the Prix Tenor de Baune on Dec. 27 at Vincennes.
