Face Time Bourbon wins in world-record at Vincennes

Vincennes, FR — Face Time Bourbon – perhaps the best 4-year old in Europe – was a very impressive winner in the classic Prix de Selection at Vincennes Saturday (March 2) afternoon.

With Björn Goop in the sulky Face Time Bourbon was in command the whole trip, and won in a new world record of 1.54 (mile rate) for 4-year old male trotters over 1-5/8 mile with standing start.

The old record was 10 years old and belonged to another French trotter, Rolling d’Heripre, who won the same race in 1.54.3 (mile rate) back in 2009.

Face Time Bourbon, sired by Ready Cash, now 11 wins from 13 races and with yesterdays purse for the winner, he has now lifetime earnings of 550,000 dollars.

Not only Face Time Bourbon impressed in the Prix de Selection.

6-year-old Davidson du Pont driven by Jean Michel Bazire, who had to trail the winner by 25 meters, finished second and was timed in 1.52.4 (mile rate) – the fastest time ever recorded at Vincennes in a race with standing start.

Face Time Bourbon is stablemate to Bold Eagle, as they both are trained by Sebastian Guarato.

The prestigious Winter Meeting ended Saturday at Vincennes, and though the track has been able to get 10% more people to come to the track than last year and on track betting showing a plus of 3.8%, the overall betting figures are down with 4.5% for the meeting, which lasted four months.
