Fancyfreeshark a late winner in Delaware Special at Dover

Dover, DE Fancyfreeshark overtook front pacing Europan Union in the final step to post a 1:50.4 victory in the $30,000 Delaware Special Handicap pace on Thursday, March 14 at Dover Downs.

Jon Roberts drove Fancyfreeshark, owned and trained by Bobby Glassmeyer, to his second victory of the 2013 campaign. After leaving fast, the 6-year-old Four Starzzz Shark-Fancy Art horse waited until the stretch before going into high gear and powered home to reach the finish line first upping his career earnings to $308,675. Europan Union and Jim Morand was a strong second. Catchmecullen A with Allan Davis was in the photo finishing third. Jeremy’s Successor was scratched.

Ron Pierce took Arty Foster’s Eagle All right to the front on the way to a 1:50.3 triumph in the $23,000 Winners-Over Handicap. Summer Camp (Jon Roberts) and Cam B Zipper (Eric Carlton) could not be separated by the photo-finish camera resulting in a tie for second-place-honors. Eagle All, an altered son of Allamerican Ingot-It’s Gina, won for the third time this year. He has banked $33,630 in 2013 and $512,398 lifetime.
