Fearless Man posted an easy victory in the Preferred Trot Monday night at Woodbine Raceway.

Lindys Tru Grit was looking to repeat after winning last week’s Preferred, while Fearless Man was looking to bounce back after failing to secure victories in his last two outings despite front-end trips.

Sent off as the 8-5 favorite, Fearless Man flashed his tremendous gate speed and sprinted to the front for trainer/driver Rick Zeron. The public’s choice posted an opening quarter of :27.2.

There was no movement in the middle-half, as Fearless Man kept the tempo honest with fractions of :56 and 1:24. Lindys Tru Grit, who was 9-5, was situated fourth through the opening three-quarters.

In the stretch, Zeron and Fearless Man waved goodbye to their rivals and trotted home comfortably to win by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3. Charlie Is A Joker and Hldontghttoyurdrms held their positions to round out the top three finishers.

Lindys Tru Grit was unable to make a final quarter challenge, as he made a break in the stretch.

A 6-year-old son of Elegant Man, Fearless Man is owned by Rick Zeron Stables, Noblock Racing Stable, Murray Greenfield and Cool Cat Racing Inc. The veteran trotter now has three wins in eight starts this season for earnings of over C$72,000.

Fearless Man’s victory Monday was his 25th career visit to the winner’s circle. The 6-year-old gelding has banked C$444,891 over the course of his career.

The Zeron trainee paid $5.50 to win.

Live racing resumes Thursday at Woodbine with another 10-race card. Post time is 7:30 p.m.
