Field is set for Claim To Fame Series final at Miami Valley

by Miami Valley Raceway

Lebanon, OH — Following a trio of fiercely contested second round divisions of $30,000 claimers on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 21), the field is set for the $40,000 championship leg of the Claim To Fame series a week from now at Miami Valley Raceway.

Repeat winners Supreme Mach N and Totally Kissed headline the group, while one-time series winners JM Jet Set and Get Around Town also advanced. Others who will compete for the lion’s share of the lucrative championship purse will be New Patrol, Go Daddy Go, Bet The Moon, Blooming Genius, Dashpoint Hanover and Our Dragon King.

Totally Kissed will be one of two horses from the Jeff Brewer Stable in the final. The 7-year-old Total Truth gelding was shipped to Ohio from Woodbine in Toronto by owners Gary Lance and Patrick Dillon specifically for this late closer. Stablemate J M Jet Set was claimed at Saratoga in December by current owners Rodney Lorenzo and Brian Running, who also had this Claim To Fame series in mind.

Supreme Mach N returns to the Dan Dubeansky Stable for the final. The 9-year-old son of Mach Three won the first leg for Dubeansky owners Carl and Melanie Atley, but they were forced to reclaim him in the second leg after Mary Megerle successfully “rented” (claimed) him for a week and placed him in the Kayne Kauffman Stable.

In addition to copping $13,750 as the winner’s share of her round two triumph, Megerle profited by another $7,500 as the claiming prices increased by 25 percent in the second round.
