Fighting Evil sails through the slop, wins Meadows featured

Washington, PA — Fighting Evil grabbed the lead with a powerful first-over move, then sailed through the slop to capture her second straight victory in Thursday’s (Feb. 22) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Hammered down to 4-5, Fighting Evil was a patient third down the backside when Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. tipped her off the cones to attack the leader, Arrhythmic Dream. The 6-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou-Evil Fight gobbled up that rival and drew off, scoring by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:52. Jillian B Miki and Day To Party completed the ticket.

Jack Smith trains Fighting Evil, who extended her career bankroll to $246,969, for Shannon Depinto and Howard Taylor. It was one of four wins for Wrenn on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Feb. 23), first post 12:45 p.m.
