Campbellville, ON — Yves Filion is certainly no stranger to producing champion performers from him Bayama Farms in Quebec. The veteran trainer may have another one on the horizon with Rebeka Bayama.

Rebeka Bayama has won four of her seven starts this year, with earnings of $34,647.

Filion is very familiar with the family. He bred, trained and owns the sire Leader Bayama and he bred and owns the dam Joyce Bayama while his son Justin trained her.

Yves’ other son, Sylvain, will handle the lines in the C$60,000 final of the Town Pro Pacing Series on Tuesday night, July 13, at Mohawk Racetrack.

However, if you haven’t seen her perform, you may only have one more opportunity this year according to the veteran trainer.

“After this series she will get time off and I will prepare her for next year. She is Quebec bred so she has only had nine career starts and she will have to race against older horses this year and I want no part of that,” Filion told WEG’s media department.

“I strongly believe that she will be a top level mare within time. I own her myself so I will manage her accordingly for many years,” Filion commented.
